ABOUT THE MEAL:
Nick Korbee, Chef/Owner of First Mile: Kitchen (opening this summer at Bradley Fair) is serving up a 4-course take-home family meal using ingredients sourced from Soil Stories participating growers:
MG Honor Farms, Orie's Farm Fresh, Serenity Farm CSA, Firefly Farm, Elderslie Farm, and Legacy Garden Works.
MENU:
Curried Carrot and Sunchoke Soup crumbled feta, fried mint and carrot tops, and charred scallion.
Farm Greens and Butter Head Salad shaved asparagus, hakurei turnip, fresh herbs, and black garlic vinaigrette.
Northern Italian Lasagna Bianca handmade spinach noodle, roasted oyster mushroom,
sunchoke and Sunset cheese béchamel,spring herb pistou.
*Special collaboration with Viola’s Pantry and Chef Kristina Grappo
Salted Honey Chess Pie graham cracker crust, blackberry lemon compote.

The goal of this Soil-to-Table experience is to savor and celebrate the richness of the nutrient-dense local food we have right here in Sedgwick County. Only 50 tickets will be sold for this unique opportunity to enjoy in-season farm-fresh products and to hear from the land stewards who cultivate them.
